[Cable's heard of the Danger Room. It's a simulation room in which their own technology in the future was based off of. They trained as much as they could in the non-lethal environment before being thrown to the wolves.]

[Cable smiles around his tea. He nods.]

[ There's a warm feeling in his chest at that-- I trust your instincts-- and Logan doesn't know what to do with it, so he looks down at his tea to hide his smile. ] ...thanks, man.

[ Another gulp of tea. ] "Improvements", huh? I'm guessin' that kinda tech's common as shit where you come from?
Not really. It's used in our military, but only one of the rooms exist. Unless there's another I don't know about. [He drinks his tea.] Makes me wonder what we might have been if not for the war. I would like to have been an engineer.
[He finishes his tea.]
Mm. Gotta trust someone. [He stares into his empty mug.] Which is why I asked you over here. If this town ever takes my telekinesis.
[ Logan guesses this is what Cable wanted to talk about. He doesn't push him, but he does finally return to sit across from him at the table, watching him intently.
He hasn't finished his tea. Fortunately, he doesn't mind it cold. ]
[With a grunt, Cable stands up and takes off his shirt. Underneath is his now familiar half-metal, half-flesh chest. His real half is covered with deep bruises, and a bandage is taped over his abdomen. He traces the places where the metal has met flesh, bursting from the surface and corrupting the flesh.]
This is a virus. A techno-organic virus. I was infected with it when I was a child. It's still active. Eventually, it'll likely kill me.
[He says this close to a monotone, as if he's divorced himself completely from the truth of it all.]
My eye is part of it as well. I hold the spread back with my telekinesis. I'm... I'm not sure what might happen if it's left unchecked.
[Cable's thinking of that dream, where Logan saved him, all the to virus spread over walls and engulfing the dead. He's terrified it might happen just like that.]
[ Logan's brows tighten just a little when Cable shows him his body-- and yes, he does remember the dream. Remembers with obvious, burning clarity how the technology on Cable's body now had covered the labyrinth... and how fucking eerie that had been.
He glances up from the metal on Cable's skin to look up at him instead. ]
Might be better not to take that chance. [ By that, he means leaving it unchecked shouldn't be an option. ]
...unless. [ Logan remembers what this place has done to his powers, to Erik's powers, to Jean-Paul's. His jaw stiffens a fraction. ] Does Deerington fuck with your telekinesis, too?
[He puts his shirt back on. When he's finished, some of his hair is sticking straight up. He tames it by raking fingers through his hair.]
It's been fucking with them. They've only fluctuated to the stronger side. I woke up last night, up in the air with half of the stuff in my room floating right there with me. They haven't bottomed out, thank Christ.
With any luck, if it happens, it'll only affect me and nothing else.
[ Logan weighs the offer for a grand total of five seconds. The black tea stains Cable's hand when he grips it, juices dripping down the meat of his palm and over his wrist.
What else can he say in a scenario like this? A faint please don't make me plays in the back of his mind, but the voice is young and boyish and scared--

[ "Nate". The serious expression he wears turns into a smile. ] Sure, Nate. [ Just like that, all the tension's melted away, and Logan feels all right enough to drink the last of his tea. ]
Come on, let the poor bag go. [ He's talking about the tea that Cable's still squeezing to death, white knuckles and all. ] The virus ain't eating you up yet.
I don't think it's the sleep that triggers it. [ Logan pours more water into Cable's cup. ] But I've only seen her teleport twice so far.
[ He knows he has Erik around to talk to about things like this, but Erik also brings with him a ridiculous amount of Expectation. Disclosing the nature of Henry's powers so early on would bring about the harshest training... and Logan still wants to give her that choice of learning instead of having the burden thrust upon her. ]
It's triggered by heightened emotional distress, probably. [ Sitting back down in his chair, Logan tries not to feel too surprised at the linguo he's using-- like he's at Xavier's again, having a faculty meeting again. ] I think she must have had a really bad nightmare? But...
She can feel it when it starts happening. She just can't get it to stop.
Jesus. [He drops the teabag back into the cup.] Is she afraid of it? That might be part of it as well.
[Nathan's never been to a Xavier's faculty meeting, but he's following along just fine. It's something he has limited experience with.]

You bring her teleporting up in front of her and she'll probably just 'port away from you. [ A beat. ] Or kick me in the teeth for telling you about it.
But... shit, you're a dad. [ A real dad, too! Not a fake parent like Logan is, no sirree, no matter what Magneto tries to convince him of. ] I don't know what I'm doin' half the time. Might be good to have someone actually responsible watchin' her back.
Looks like you're doing fine to me. [Granted, he's never been to Logan's house, so he has no idea what state it's in.] I'm a first time dad, so I've made a lot of mistakes. I wasn't home as much as I'd like.
